Beauty is sensibility beyond rationality. It is private, defying precise definition, eschewing the need for explanation, and existing beyond moral judgments of right or wrong. It is this very ambiguous and all-encompassing nature that often reduces “beauty” to a mere linguistic placeholder—a vague term used to paper over gaps in our thinking, rendering it absurd. The following micro-survey attempts to ground “beauty” once again in practical, tangible perceptions:
